General Comment:

This was the 2nd time our Nursery went to Tunisia to participate in a Football Tournament/Festival and the 3rd time Football groups went abroad to play football including training camps.

This time the 1995 group was chosen for the trip and same as last year the experience gained was very positive.  Better placing could have been achieved if some players were not sick against the crucial match vs ESS ‘B’ team which we lost 0 – 1.

The Tunisians play fast attractive football especially the ESS’A’ team and they move the ball from one player to another systematically.  This Club (ESS-Sousse) is a very well organised one and has over 100 children to choose from in the 1995 group alone.

Our team played well in all games fighting hard for every ball. I consider our level as slightly less than the ‘ESS’A team and slightly better than the ESS’B’ team. These games besides giving valuable experience to our children have served also as a training camp for the children, living and playing together, and has great educational value.

In the free time the Group visited Carthage Land, Frigo Park Zoo and Aqua Palace besides the Port ‘El Kantoui’

All the children including the girl played in the games and an extra game was organised due to a drop out of a team ‘USMO’ from the tournament so that all children played at least one full game.

 

Facilities were good. Matches were played on artificial turf on a large pitch with relatively small goal posts. 

 

The participating teams have been invited to participate in our planned tournament/festival for March 2006.
