THE FOOTBALL NURSERY
Founded in 1997 when the Under 14 and Under 16 teams were formed to take part in the Youth Football Association and the Malta Football Association Leagues for the first time. In the Season 1998/1999, the Nursery opened its doors to children aged from five years upwards, and in a short space of a few years, the number of children increased to 200, half of which reside in Pembroke. We are therefore proud to have so many children from Pembroke and nearby towns, and pleased to have representation of children from other parts of Malta too. Today, close to ten years later, we have established ourselves as one of the fastest growing Football Nurseries on the Island, having a group of dedicated people forming the PAFN Committee (Chairman, Secretary/Administrator, Treasurer, members) who is independent from the seniors and looks after the administration of the nursery. The coaching staff comprises of around 25 qualified coaches and assistants, apart from many other helpers. Training Facilities have improved tremendously over the years, and we have just launched our first Synthetic Astro Turf Pitch at the club for our young footballers, in the presence of many distinguished guests including UEFA & MFA representatives, the Mayor and councillors of Pembroke Town and Club Hon. Presidents, Dr. Francis Zammit Dimech and Mr. Evarist Bartolo, to mention a few. Our continuous improvement has also been recognised by the M.F.A. and Y.F.A., who have classified our Nursery as Category “A” for the second year running, the best certificate a Nursery can obtain. Apart from catering for all ages for the promising young boys, as from this year, our Nursery has introduced a section for the girls which look very promising indeed. The Nursery is now divided into eleven groups, namely as follows:
Each age group has its own qualified Coach and Assistant Coach or helper, whilst all groups participate in the Malta Youth Football Association Festivals and Competitions. This is apart from our participation in various other Tournaments organised by our nursery and other clubs, together with many friendly football matches throughout the season, where all the players can participate, irrespective of their competence and skills. We also make it a point that every year, one or two groups travel abroad, and in summer of 2006, the Under 12 and Under 14 groups participated in an International Football Tournament (Dapper Cup) in Bulgaria with very positive results and experiences. The club boasts of having a friendly approach and environment, where children can feel happy and welcome and the parents have a great excuse to attend this family atmosphere at the club in Tunis Road, Pembroke. We look forward to many more successful seasons in the future.
Our Goals Nursery strives to provide healthy sporting environment to all children, boys and girls, for the development of their character, physical, technical abilities and talent.

THE FOOTBALL CLUB
The parent club, Pembroke Athleta Football Club also represents the Pembroke Town in the Malta Football Association, competing in the 3rd Division League besides the Youth and Under 19 Leagues organised by the M.F.A. Our Football Club also forms part of the Pembroke Athleta Sports Club, which comprises other Sports disciplines like Athletics and Basketball. The Club’s Football Ground is situated in Pembroke, close to the sea, next to the Radisson Bay Point Hotel. Plans have been submitted to MEPA by the Sports Club to continue developing the remaining area and construct a Sports Complex.
